armand is a figure of juxtaposition. his life has been a battle of extremes, from having nothing to having everything. he becomes a vampire as a young adult, still immature, demanding, and already growing out of touch with what it means to be human.much of his early life as a vampire and beyond, he is sequestered and isolated. first, with the cult, then of his own volition within the theatre.in the modern day, however, and through the 20th and 21st centuries, he's far more explorative, curious, and obsessed with modern technology and connecting with the world.i want it to be clear that armand is both victim and monster. his actions are never excusable by past trauma.i do not ignore his traumatic background, including the removal of his culture, human trafficking, sexual assault, kidnapping, etc. however, what i am absolutely careful about what i explicitly talk about on my blog.another note: i have complicated feelings about the character marius. i'm not anti-marius, nor ignorant or in denial of the kind of monster he is. but like i said, i have complex feelings.there are themes that i don't find necessary to write about and that while they may guide my portrayal, i'm not going to dive into lengthy, triggering headcanons bc i want my dash to be a safe space for me and my friends (as safe as it can be writing gothic horror).

throughout his life, he's been a believer, a zealot, a cultist, and an athiest, often becoming obsessed with finding meaning and becoming frustrated when he can't.armand does not pursue casual interests. he is a creature who devotes 100% of himself to the obsessions that take him.he's a master manipulator, easily wearing any face to get what he wants. he utilizes his youth and innocent appearance to get what he wants and to lure people into a false sense of security.he is severely detached from humanity, as much as he attempts to understand and analyze it. he's endlessly curious, drawn to things bigger than himself to become completely swept away by.he can be cold, cruel, sadistic and without remorse or guilt. on the other side of the coin, he seeks love and acceptance desperately, but often sabotages his relationships.

armand is taken into the fog shortly after becoming a vampire in the late 1400s. while a survivor torn out of renaissance venice, he dresses in modern clothing, opting for dark colors and sleek, simple fashions.he doesn't know how long he's been in the fog and has a hazy memory about his human life and even his vampiric existence is sometimes touch and go. the years he's spent around more modern survivors and surviving within the fog make it difficult to tell what time he's been pulled out of.he's far more interested in the modern world, technology, and does not seem "out of time."he favors the maps with sunlight, because in the entity's realm, it doesn't hurt him. and while he doesn't hunt other survivors, he does occasionally attempt to hunt more humanoid killers outside of the trials. he doesn't have to drink blood in the fog, but he likes to and would rather take it from them.perks:bloodthirsty - as a vampire, he feeds off the lives of others. for every survivor sacrificed, he gains a speed bonus for 10/15/20 seconds respectively.vampire bite - when pulled off a generator or totem, armand has one opportunity to bite the killer for a stun. this can only be used once in the match.undead - if left in a dying state for 40 seconds, armand can lift himself off the ground, leaving no blood trail or scratch marks for 10 seconds.  supernatural    AU. 
in his supernatural verse, armand is still a 500-something year old vampire. he's the leader of a nest on an island off the coast of florida. for the most part, he's kept his distance from hunters. and while humans do visit the island, suspected hunters are watched closely. he will not stop other vampires from killing hunters who become threats.he's been around a long time, and over time has collected various books, artefacts (mostly revolving around world religions) but plenty of a supernatural nature. it's possible that he's shared information with hunters before and is willing to do so again if it serves him.  resident evil    AU. 
in the late 1960s, armand was one of many subjects kept within the laboratories built by spencer's circle. while the experiments ultimately kill him, the scientists manage to revive him.he awakes aggressive, stronger than average, and with an instinct to tear into human flesh and a bizarre taste for blood. unlike the zombies created by later strains, armand's mind is whole, his faculties are in place, though he has few memories of life prior to the one in the lab.as research progresses elsewhere, the lab eventually loses most of its funding and most projects are either kept in stasis or terminated. with the destruction of laboratories following the racoon city incident, armand wakes again, still angry and unaging.early on in this verse, armand is more aggressive and monstrous, though he does calm and through the years learns control.  BG3    AU.

SUBCLASS: college of lorearmand's coven is based in athkatla, however, it moves in the guise of a traveling theater troupe. they take up regular residence in baldur's gate's upper city, putting on macabre shows. they're an example of vampires hiding in plain sight, calling themselves as such. most of the troupe members dress dramatically, paint their faces, and play into the vampire trope. they don't, however, feed on people except for in their home city, to mitigate suspicion.as their leader, armand rarely takes the stage himself. it's also part of the disguise, to have dramatic players who call themselves vampires under an inconspicuous troupe leader.he's a trader of rare and magical artefacts. his most prized possession is a cloak cast with undead magic and sold to him by a powerful necromancer, allowing him to walk in the sun beneath its covering.things of note: armand is not originally from faerûn, although memory of his childhood is incredibly hazy.he spent the last several years of his life in the company of vampires.prior to his death, he served a vampire in waterdeep. his early 20s was spent in luxury and excess, with dreams of immortality for himself. he didn't get his wish, however, until after a clandenstine affair turned feud with a lord resulted in fatal injuries from a poison-dipped blade.his master allowed him to become a full vampire immediately.he remains in waterdeep for less than a year as a vampire before he's taken by a different coven.
